Frigidaire 8000 BTU Air Conditioner

I just bought this yesterday for my 14x11 bedroom to survive the NYC heat. I plugged it in and the lowest setting is SO loud. I couldn't believe it. And PC Richard and Son's doesn't take any returns on air conditioners.

I needed just a small window unit for my bedroom, and this is a great unit!
<br>It's size is smaller than most, by about 2-3 inches in width, and pretty lightweight. I love the remote control for it, so I don't have to raise the window blinds to turn it on, or make adjustments. It has loads of adjustment settings for temp, air speed, sleep setting to turn off at night, and a timer to turn it on and off at the same time each day. Great for coming home to a cool room! The compressor is a little loud, but no more than any other unit I have ever owned. Big Plus is that it has a 5 year warranty! Where do you see that in an appliance these days? I DID have a great deal of difficulty in locating this unit though. I read about it's top rating in a major "Consumer Reporting" magazine. So, I was set on obtaining this particular unit. NOBODY locally had one. But, I found that Lowe's Hardware could special order one and have it delivered to the store of your choice for pickup.
