Bought this unit to put in my son's room. Got it installed, and when I turned it on, the fan wouln't start. There was a piece of plastic that was preventing the fan to turn, so I got the screwdriver, opened the front cover, and was able to fix this issue. However, after letting it run for like about 4-5 minutes, the unit started to make a loud grinding noise. Turned it off and whent to check what was going on, and that's when I realized just how hot the case was. If left to run for a much longer period, I'm pretty sure this unit would had caught on fire. So this is NOT a safe unit, nor is it reliable at all. And customer service from Haier, well, that's not even worth bothering with, for it is a total waste of time.
