Pros: It's a no frills, simple to use camcorder that will find favour with newbies looking for the convenience of DVD recording and clip management. 30x zoom is a bonus, as is general functionality.

Cons: The low price point inevitably leads to some compromise when shooting in low light. 4:3 "cinema" widescreen mode is a bit of a waste these days, and the 1000x digital zoom is superfluous.
