I researched a lot for a replacement for my 2X Toshiba drive and I settled on this one. I was not dissappointed. This drive is all it was hyped up to be and more!
I can't believe there aren't any other reviews for this. Does that mean that not many people are buying it? I hope not.
This drive is quiet and fast. It can write at 8X on some 4X discs (shown on Plextor's website) and even writes at 2X on my cheap comp usa 1X discs!
It is very reliable and hasn't produced one coaster yet except for ones that were my fault.
I even had the option of ordering one in black, which I did. Nice!
Do your research like I did and I guarantee you that you won't find a burner with better feedback than this one. Just buy it. It is worth the extra price over the cheapie brands and is better to me than the Sony DRU-530.
