My wife and I each bought Nokia 5300 phones. T-mobile is now sending us our second replacement set. The main problem is that we cannot make phone calls. Less than 50% of calls work properly. The phone randomly drops my calls (I can no longer hear the other person although they can still hear me). I often have to send voice or text messages to communicate with people because I cannot call them. (No, it is not a network issue)

Since we've now owned four different 5300's (soon to be six) we've also noticed that they are not consistent in quality. For example, the two sliding parts on my wife's current phone are very loose and wobble from side to side.

Our phones also do odd things such as randomly reassigning our ringtones or forgeting our one-touch dial settings.

We do really like the features and enjoyed the phones while they worked, but overall we've had a terrible experience with them. The Nokia 5300 has not functioned as a phone for us.
QuickTake:
Pros: Great features, easy to use, good aesthetics
Cons: Constant problems making phone calls
Has Owned Product: 2 Month(s)

If the hoard of N-series Nokias raining down from Espoo yesterday was a bit too much on say, the fuddy-duddy side of the generational slope, then check these new XpressMusic cellphones kiddies. Well "new" only if you missed the 5300 and 5200 peeped before...
