While not having a carafe is kind of nice, the time it takes to carefully fill the resevoir and not have water all over the counter ruins whatever is nice about this coffee maker.

When you fill the reservoir, if you do not pour very slowly, the water will come out into and overflow the drip tray. I had this unit replaced under warranty (the first one quit powering on) with Cuisinart, and both pots do the same thing. Always have

I purchased this, thinking it would be the greatest, from the start my husband hated it, hate to say he was right, very hard to get water into resevior, leaks water, need a towel for every pot of coffee, to large for most counters, dont recomend.........
