we bought the coffee maker under two months, and it just stopped brewing coffee. what a good morning this was.

The product failed after what I consider a very short period of use. I am unable to contact Black & Decker for any explanation of why the product failed after such a relitively short period of use.

We've had this coffee maker for 3 yrs. and it pours easily and quickly. Nice updated design!

I had a B&D coffee maker in the past, of similar type. Great coffee maker, lousy carafe, which insisted in pouring coffee all over the counter. Had to pour all my coffee over the sink. Then I bought this one with the "perfect carafe." I've owned it for a year now. It's on death row pending replacement.

Well, the carafe is perfect!!! The rest is junk! We'll start out with the one-way valve that feeds the heating element. It is pressed into place, but when the coffee maker heats up, the socket expands and the valve just leaves its seat, leaving the coffee maker not very functional, but making great noises.

Then the top, which must snap tightly over the basket to function properly, is poorly designed so it springs open while coffee is brewing. You see, the designers forgot that it gets hot, warping the shape. Simply designing the hinges with allowance for that would have solved this. But no.... This causes hot water to leak all over my counter, and lets the basket rise against the spring tension of the valve on the bottom. The valve closes, letting the basket fill with water and overflow a nice lava mixture of coffee grounds and hot water all over. Oh yeah, just to make sure the point is made, the grounds spill into the carafe as well, making the coffe into coffee surprise.

Now the switch is getting flaky on me. Needless to say I'm not buying any more Black and Decker coffee makers.
