This is the 3rd Cuisinart coffee maker I've purchased in the last 10 years...and it is the 3rd one I've had to return due to poor design. Like most others say, it spills, overflows, and is generally a mess to pour a simple mug of coffee, unless you want to spend 3 minutes SLOWLY pouring milliliters a time into a cup!! I'm convinced that Cuisinart makes the messiest coffee makers in the world; all 3 I've ever purchased (12 cup, 10 cup, & now 4 cup) have been major clean-up projects. I make French press on a camping trip cleaner than using my coffee pot in my office! VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!
QuickTake:
Pros: Quite brewing (I work in a VERY close quartered space)
Comments:
carafe leaks every time it's used; have had it replaced three times; same thing happened each time; cuisinart provided no other solution other than replacing the carafe again; have given up; I DO NOT recommend this product!
Comments:
Compact and easy to use for up to 4 cups of coffee. It brews 4 very good cups of coffee. With the stainless pot it is a bit tough to tell when the brewing has completed, although I don't consider this a problem.
Comments:
This pot makes decent coffee but the prep and execution are greatly hampered by bad design. To start, filling the reservoir usually results in some cold water finding its way into the coffee basket unless you are extremely careful. But the real problems are once the coffee is made: the carafe drips (floods actually) large amounts of coffee down its side onto the countertop unless the pour rate is very slow. Furthermore, when pouring the second cup, the hot coffee vapours burn your hand unless the carafe is held at the bottom of the grip,a most un-ergonomic position. This piece of junk does not deserve the Cuisinart name.

The DCC 450 BK coffee maker is an abomination.
When operating the on-off switch, one has to hold the thing down to keep it from sliding across the counter.
The lid is so hard to get up one has to hold the thing down. It helps to squeeze it from th
