Rival Smart-Pot 3860-C Electric Crock Pot Electric Slow Cooker

First time I used the product, I wanted to stat the cooking process on high, then turn it down. My meat burned and the timer did not shut off after the meat was cooked.

<br>I used the cooker again today and the ceramic insert cracked. I did not know this had happened, until I removed the ceramic insert and saw that the heating surface had a burned, liquid area on it. I verified the crack, by putting water in it and placed it on my counter top. When I picked the ceramic insert up, there was a puddle of water on the counter. I washed it and saw the crack.

WHEN I SET THE POT FOR 8 HRS, THE FOOD IS BOILING AWAY. SO I COOK IT FOR 4 - 6 HOURS. WHEN I PUT IT ON WARM, IT KEPT BOILING AWAY.

I had this product for a year now. The first few months it was great, then the problems started.

Problem 1: I needed a new handle as it broke. I e-mailed Rival customer service to get a replacement piece (in black). They told me that the black handle was in stock and then proceeded to send me a white handle. I sent them several e-mails and never got a response.

Problem 2: Unlike the previous review stating that the cooker just shuts off, my cooker just keeps on cooking it never switches to the warm cycle. The whole crock pot was extremely hot, I am now afraid to use it unless I am home, which defeats the whole purpose of using it.

I could use any suggestions on which crock pot/slow cooker to purchase next. Any feedback would be helpful.
