Product Rating: 5 star(s) You Can't Go Wrong With A Tamron!

, Jun. 20, 2008
Comments:
I love that I can attach this lens to my Sony/Minolta A100 and use it as an "walk around" lens. It can take very good close ups and yet I can capture things far, far away also. I may not ever need another lens. Photos are sharp, detailed and the colors are true. I haven't found anything I don't like - unless it could come down in price a bit. But you know, they say, "You get what you pay for", and this lens is worth every penny!!

QuickTake:

Pros: Photos taken with this lens are very sharp and clear.
Cons: Maybe, just maybe a bit on the heavy side - but nothing I can't handle.

Review Verdict: A minimum focusing distance of 45 cm is maintained throughout the entire zoom range, providing a maximum magnification ratio of 1:3.5 at the 250mm end of the zoom range. It's not true macro but it does provide some great close-up pictures. Internal focusi

Review Verdict: Like its longer (but cheaper) stablemate, the Tamron 18-200mm has excellent control over chromatic aberrations in the centre of the frame, but loses it as we look closer to the corners, though less dramatically so than the 18-250mm. In terms of resolution

Review Verdict: While the lens's performance may not match that of those with a shorter zoom range, the fact remains that to a large number of people this is going to be a tempting lens. When you judge it in terms of value for money, performance is actually very good. It
