Product Rating: 10 star(s) Great camera... but of course, its a Canon!

Comments:
This is our back-up camera to the 5D we use in our wedding photo business. Have never had to reach for it out of desperation, but the 1.6 lens factor comes in handy to extend the reach of the L series lenses in my bag.

QuickTake:

Pros: Basically the same control set up as our 5D, which is our min camera. makes going to the back-up a nice change of pace.
Cons: None.

The EOS 30D may not be much of an improvement over the 20D, but it's still a great camera.

Canon's 8.2Mp EOS-30D is a follow-up to the 20D â€" in essence, it's a 20D Mark 2, sporting few improvements. But the 20D was an excellent camera, of course.

Review Verdict: The EOS-30D offers pro handling and excellent quality. It's a great step-up from entry-level digital SLRs, but only a modest upgrade from the EOS-20D.

The Canon EOS 30D is a welcome upgrade to an already great camera. The larger LCD screen and new features will directly affect everyday shooting, while the lower price tag will give you an extra $100 to spend on lenses.

Review Verdict: At first glance, the 30D looks exactly like its predecessor. The camera has the same control layout as the 20D, but a glance at the back of the camera reveals a 2.5-inch LCD screen--a marked improvement over the 20D's 1.8-inch screen

Review Verdict: Maybe Canon do listen, with the i EOS 30D they have addressed no less than five of the 'Cons' from my EOS 20D review; Lack of spot metering, Fixed continuous shooting rate, Limited range of image parameter adjustment, Small LCD monitor and ISO sensitivity
