I use it for free lance photography. I have a 20D, 30D, and now the 40D. The 40D is clearly the best of the lot, and a nice step up from the 30D.

The camera is immediately usable in its completely automatic functions. Set your preferences, switch the camera to program mode and start shooting. It's amazingly intuitive and accurate at doing that. Learning to use all the buttons and wheels and possibilities the camera can facilitate is another story. However, once learned, if it's anything like as good as auto mode, it will be nolthing short of fantastic. All this, coming from one who has never used a digital camera past a point a.nd shoot
