Product Rating: 10 star(s) Canon 5d: Aging but wonderful

Comments:
The GOOD: Full-frame provides smaller depth of field to focus attention to subject and out of focus area ("bokeh") is easier to achieve. Really great quality photos. Crank it up to 1600 ISO and you'll be amazed at the quality. If you're a 20d user looking for more control over depth of field, a brighter viewfinder, and nice wide angles once in a while, you won't be disappointed either. It looks and feels just like the 20d except a little bigger. The results will not disappoint. And because the price of the successor is likely to be higher when it arrives, it is a bargain. The BAD: Canon flash (even top of line 580ex2) requires strange settings for fill-in effects--exceptionally difficult to use. There are unofficial manuals on line to help, which is evidence of the difficulty.

QuickTake:

Pros: Full frame, the best of 2005 technology, great low-light performance; subtle colors captured.
Cons: No built-in flash; external flash acts not easy to use; heavy, expensive.

This is my second 5D and im sure ill buy another one next year... I shoot travel and underwater images and like to turn over my body every 12 months. The 5d is all i am looking for... make sure you get the Grip if you have BIG hands like i do, it makes all the difference when you have a chunk of Glass like the 70-200 2.8 IS attached. I have owned the 20D and this was the obvious choice... Its not the fastest camera out there so if you are shooting sports you might want to use the 40D. Oh and upgrade the firmware as soon as you get it, this makes a hugh difference to the image color saturation.

QuickTake:

Pros: Full frame lighter than other full frame camera on the market right now.
Cons: Loud shutter- don't understand why but its LOUD!!!!!!

Product Rating: 10 star(s) Great addition to my bag of tricks!

I will use this as a second unit for weddings and events. My primary is a Mark II DS1. I will set the camera settings and then hand it to my assistant to capture pictures. At times, I will just put different lenses on the two bodies and alternate shots. My only wish is that it was weather sealed like my Mark II. Great all around camera!

Product Rating: 4 star(s) Nice Digital SLR

Comments:
I must say the EF lenses are superlative, and I don't know how I ever lived with conversion factors before now. This is not a toy. If you don't instictively know what 'fstop' means, don't choose this level of camera.

QuickTake:

Pros: SLR provides superior composition over point and click.
Cons: Larger than point and click cameras.

Canon's EOS 5D is the most affordable full-frame D-SLR yet, allowing lenses to be used without affecting their field of view. It's quite a premium to pay even considering the 12.8Mp resolution, but if you curse the cropped view of cheaper D-SLRs, this cou

Product Rating: 3.5 star(s) Canon EOS 5D

Comments:
Canon's EOS 5D is a 12.8Mp (megapixel) D-SLR, or digital single-lens reflex, designed for serious enthusiasts and professionals. It's the first affordable D-SLR with a full-frame sensor, widely considered to be the Holy Grail of digital photography.

Review Verdict: Canon's EOS 5D is the most affordable full-frame D-SLR yet, allowing lenses to be used without affecting their field of view. At £2,539 for the body alone, it's quite a premium to pay even considering the 12.8Mp resolution. But if you curse the crop...

Review Verdict: A lower-priced full-frame digital SLR was a logical step for Canon, the only thing we weren't sure of was how that camera would look when it arrived.

Canon EOS 5D - Digital camera reviews

Comments:
The Canon EOS-5D is a full-frame, 13 Megapixel camera that sits between the EOS-20D and EOS-1Ds Mk II cameras. The full-frame term means that there's no focal length conversion, a 50 mm lens really is 50 mm. It can shoot up to 3 frames per second; record
