Camera takes great photos. In automatic mode it takes great snapshots. I am most impressed with the ease of use. It took a little time to learn the features and how to make it do what you want it to do, but it does it very well.

We bought this camera because our old reliable Olympus finally gave out. Our daughters prom is coming and the New Canon EOS Digital XTI will get plenty of use in the next few months and of course during the summer boating seasons for family and wildlife.

This camera is probably the best value for money for entry-level DSLR. The canon lens system is extensive. For an APS-C sensor, without considering the advantages of larger bodies, this is almost as good as any. The kit lens is of low quality, but for its price it is worth it. I use this camera mainly for nature photography, i.e. birds, landscapes.

I have owned several Canon cameras and for the most part, love them. But..for some reason, the fill flash will not work on most of them. The pictures are generally nice, but not as good as I expected. Film cameras are still better than digital. I have been professional for many years but decided that heavy cameras are just too much for me anymore. Maybe I will go back to film and try again.

The only bad thing about this camera, is I wish I'd be able to have the option to view a picture while it's being taken on the LCD screen. Depending on the position I'm in to take a picture, I can't always have my eye stuck in the viewer. I bought this camera to take pictures of my son. I felt I was wasting my money when I brought him to take professional photos. It's easier and more convenient for me to take them at home!

I've been using my Xti for around 6 months and I absolutely love it. I've captured some great pics of my kids at sporting events. Just be aware as with any DSLR you will need additional lenses that will cost more than your initial investment in the camer
