My previous camera was also canon and I found the sd 870 also very good. The wide angle lens, and the LCD screen was just excellent... Only thing i found little bad about the camera is that its video is not good and noisy...

The SD870 IS is an excellent general-use camera, producing high-quality images with a minimum of user intervention. Scene modes work well for their intended setting/subject(s). The wide-angle feature is great for taking groups shots in smaller indoor environments.

I hike and this camera is a great one to hook to my backpack for quick access and quick photos. I was suprised by how sharp the pictures are with this camera. I found the price to be good. As for the weight, I don't even feel it there. The start-up time is great so I won't miss important shots. The camera has few buttons so it would be great for a beginner. I find this camera a great backup for my SLR.

A great camera for the beginner who wants great pictures without being knowlegeable about photography. First positive feature was how easy it was to start using. The picture quality is as good as my expensive 35mm digital for a lot less money. Of course the small and convienient size makes it easy to carry with you all the time. It should have come with a soft sided case of some kind to protect the view finder screen. The settings are easy to find and set. Lots of options so the picture quality should be right every time.

We use it for all around pictures, in the house, outside in the yard, at family parties, etc. It works great so far in all scenarios. I wish it had a bit more zoom, but otherwise it's perfect for our needs. Slips into a pocket easily too.

It took me a long time to choose it. I tried several cameras by other brands and also other models of Canon. Nothing came close to this well-roundedcamera. It is a little bit expensive but worht the price. It takes fast, good pictures. It is very responsive, wide angle lense is very beneficial. built-in controls are very helpful, like red-eye correction.

This camera is probably the best camera you can buy in the price range. It's picture quality is excellent, and it comes with a 3 inch lcd screen. I plan on using the camera for everyday and event photography. The different modes like color swap and accent also make it alot of fun.
