Review Verdict: Is the FinePix Z1 a fashion accessory that can take photographs, or a camera that doubles as a fashion accessory? Fuji has done a good job of combining form and function, balancing those often contradictory design goals. The Z1 produces good image quality

The Fujifilm FinePix Z1 is aimed at consumers who value style, portability, and ease of use, shielding them from the complexities of shutter speeds and aperture settings (although the camera does let you know what values it has selected for you). Automati

Review Verdict: The Fujifilm FinePix Z1 features a 3x Fujinon lens, equivalent to a 36-108mm lens on a 35mm camera, a range from a reasonable wide-angle to a useful telephoto. Aperture can be automatically adjusted from f/3.5 to f/8, with the maximum aperture gradually r

QuickTake:

Pros: Compact size, Solid build, In-camera image stabilization makes all lenses better for low light shooting, Same sensor as 7D, Kit lens covers 18-70mm 35mm equivalent range, Very good to excellent low-light capability, Excellent battery life, Decent shutter
Cons: Proprietary hot shoe, No PC sync port, No video recording (a fact of life with SLRs), Hand grip may be uncomfortably small for some users, Image noise slightly high at ISO 1600, RAW+JPEG option only saves fine-mode JPEGs. (But that's not a bad choice.), F

The compact, oh-so-stylish Fujifilm FinePix Z1 follows in the footsteps of their excellent medium-sized F10 model, although it doesn't quite match that model's exceptional low-light performance. It does well in that regard though when compared against the
