Comments:

Review Verdict: The Kodak LS743 is takes extremely crisp, sharp pictures, sharper than many cameras with a higher MP rating. It's slow to start and not the sexiest camera we've seen, but it's easy to use and gives you great return on your money.

Product Rating: 3.35 star(s) Kodak EasyShare LS743

Comments:
The Kodak EasyShare LS743 is one of the new generation of mid-range digital cameras hitting the market. At its core is a 4 megapixel CCD, capable of 2,304 x 1,728 resolution, which sits behind a Schneider-Kreuznach C-Variogon lens with 2.8x optical zoom.

Review Verdict: There are a number of preset modes, such as portrait, close-up, night or landscape, but we found the auto mode managed to pick the right settings most of the time. The main setting you'll find yourself changing manually is the flash, although the night mo

Review Verdict: : Small may be beautiful, but there is a point at which miniaturisation starts to defeat useability. These two cameras are on the borderline. The optical viewfinder is too small and awkwardly placed on the very end of the camera body.

Comments:
There's no TIFF or RAW mode available on this camera. The camera names files as XXX_YYYY.JPG (where X = 100 - 999 and Y = 0001 - 9999), and remembers the numbering even if you switch cards or delete photos.

Review Verdict: When it's time to recharge the battery, just pop it into the included external charger. Expect a three hour wait while the battery is charged. This isn't just one of those "plug in right into the wall" chargers -- you can swap plugs too, allowing you to u
