Comments:
I am extremely happy with this camera at this point in time. It takes astonishing pictures and the lens is first rate. There in lies the rub.. I would like to keep it that way and will have to give Nikon a "Hard Knock" for their short sightedness in intro

QuickTake:

Pros: Easy to use, great resolution and color.
Cons: Filters for crying out loud!

I love it. Just has to understand its limitations. Great resolution and pictures. A lot of manual controls and takes some time to remember all the different buttons. Overall, it is compact and flexible, thanks to the 8x zoom. It would be a great trave

QuickTake:

Pros: Almost like a SLR with full manual control, 8X optical zoom
Cons: Slow response compare to SLR

If you want slr-like capabilities in a small package with high resolution, this is the camera for you! The 5700 is not a "point and shoot" camera - it does have a learning curve - but the results are well worth it. There are many choices for exposure, sat

QuickTake:

Pros: great resolution/true-to-life colors/*can* use filters
Cons: auto-focus slow in low light conditions, not good for action

The 5700 covers most of the design flaws that were in the 5000 except for one thing, there is no where for a filter. (except the tele add-on) The adapter for the 5700 has an unusual mount size, so there is no filter adaption and when the lens is fully ext
