I bought the P5100 to have a smaller camera that would fit into my pocket and give me more camera availability than I had with my Nikon D80. It is just what I wanted. Now I can have a camera with me at all times. The quality of the pictures is fantastic and the camera is a pleasure to hold and easy to use. It is one of the few point-n-shoot cameras that does not feel awkward to hold in your hands, and the menus and choices are similar to the D80. I can also use the external flash for my D80 on the P5100. Nikon support is 24/7, exemplary and they speak English! The manual is easy to understand and a quick read. Why does anyone buy anything other than Nikon?

I purchased this camera to replace a Canon PowerShot S110. It will be used for taking pictures of my family...especially my 4 grandsons. It arrived just in time for our family reunion and I took lots of pictures of the extended family making my mother very happy. I love the fact that it is easy enough for my 5 year old grandson to use and has other options for my husband and me to experiment with.
