Used for 9 months. Out of 100's of shots and every setting you could try I could not consistently get a decent picture. Used tripod, remote switch, you name it I tried it. Focus and metering terrible. Not for the beginner for sure! Used the 18-200 VR

The Nikon Coolpix L2 is a 6-megapixel, ultra-compact camera. Compared to other ultra-compact digital cameras on the market, it is relatively inexpensive at around $190. Includes nikon PictureProject software.

Review Verdict: Under your right thumb, you'll find the main command dial and a knob that switches between matrix, center-weighted, and spot metering with a central autoexposure/autofocus lock button. There's also a button that activates metering--basically the same func

Serious amateurs and semi-pros will find a lot to like about Nikon's D200.

Review Verdict: The D200 plugs a wide gap in Nikon's DSLR range, and provides a bridge between the consumer-oriented D50, D70 and venerable D100, and the giddy heights of the D2x and D2h. It is big, heavy and expensive, but it provides the kind of build quality and perfo

Nikon's D200 is a 10.2Mp digital SLR designed for serious amateurs and professional photographers. It's the successor to the ageing Nikon D100 and competes directly against Canon's EOS-20D and, to a lesser extent, the EOS-5D.

Review Verdict: Nikon's D200 offers 10.2Mp resolution and professional build quality for £1,299. This may be twice the price of budget digital SLRs, but it's far cheaper than Nikon's Pro model. If you're serious about photography, it's the most affordable professio...

Comments:
Until now, the Canon 20D was the leading candidate to become my next digital SLR. But the D200's higher scores for color quality and exposure accuracy make it a tempting proposition as well.

Review Verdict: Nikon built the D200 with a beefy magnesium body that feels like something you could pound nails with. Nikon also loaded it with dedicated buttons and dials. The D200 is clearly a descendent of the D2X, though not quite as bulky. Even so, it still feels w

Review Verdict: When it was announced in November last year the D200 caused quite stir (and not just in the Nikon camp).
