The D40 has a great natural feeling in your hands. It maintains this balance with the 4 different lens that I've tried. I have never taken over 250 pictures at one time, but the battery was still going strong and the flash was used for about half of them....

QuickTake:

Pros: Simple enough for a novice to take wonderful pictures.
Cons: Upgraded lens are better than what came in the kit.
