Comments:
This is my first SLR camera. I read many review about which cameras would be best for beginners and still be a great camera. I am really enjoying getting to learn all the features. I have bought a higher zoom disc which works great for shooting sporting events.

QuickTake:

Pros: very good image quality, hardly any delay, light weight, easy directioins
Cons: haven't figured out what to do if you have a lot of back light, night shots are fuzzy

Product Rating: 8 star(s) I **LIKE** my new camera!

, May. 21, 2008
Comments:
This camera will be used for both personal and professional use indoors and out - for the price it has all the features I am looking for, and a substantially more affordable price (as compared to similarly equipped Nikon (D80) or Pentax (K20D) DSLRs which I considered prior to purchasing this one). Two options for storage of media (CF I/II or xD cards), available battery holder for CR123 batteries; good battery life; When in low-light conditions (i.e. outside on a dark night), the on camera flash is not quite up to the task for more than 10 feet (which is not as good as my 35mm SLR that this replaced)... when an add-on TTL flash is used, the results are spectacular.

QuickTake:

Pros: Photos are crisp, Live View, very similar to my 35mm Nikon that it replaced.
Cons: Without an add-on flash, the autofocus did not work as expected in low-light conditions.

Product Rating: 4.5 star(s) Olympus E-510 | Our Review | TechRadar UK

Comments:
It may have a plastic mount but the 14-42mm kit lens is a star performer. It's sharp, contrasty and commendably low on chromatic aberration

Review Verdict: The SuperSonic Wave Filter shakedown dislodges any dust that might have settled on the sensor and it's probably the most effective mechanical sensor-cleaning method offered by any camera manufacturer

Olympus EVOLT E-510 Training Video Review

Comments:
One of my cameras is the Olympus E-510, in some countries also known as the EVOLT E-510. It's a very capable DSLR with some unique features. We have written about one of its predecessors, the E-300 more than two years ago and I've always been enamoure

Review Verdict: For a professional photographer it's not all that hard to find your way around a new DSLR.  Functionality is pretty much fairly standard on cameras when you talk about the various shooting modes, priority modes, wide balance modes and so forth.

Comments:
With a digital SLR camera you can produce superb photographs with strong technical attributes. The Macworld team take a look at six worthy contenders.

Review Verdict: It's worth keeping an eye on white balance, as occasional daylight shots were rendered with a blue colour cast, and there is some pixel fringing between areas of high contrast. The variable white balance problem affected both our portrait and low light sh
