Just returned from a week long canoe trip and this camera was a big hit! We tossed it from canoe to canoe, dropped it in the bottom of the canoe when the paddles needed tending, took video and pictures of water fights, rope swingers, bridge leapers, and wildlife (human and other). Be sure you investigate the various features - the image stablization (shaky hand icon) is awesome! The clarity of the pictures isn't quite as good as my C730 or my E-volt, but for a pocket camera, it's amazing, especially for the price. Invest in a 2 gig memory card and a buoyant strap! With 2 gig of memory, I took hundreds of pictures and shot many minutes of video and didn't have to "ration". With the buoyant strap, I didn't have to worry about losing the camera - a waterproof camera that you can't find on the bottom of the river is not much use.
