Product Rating: 5 star(s) I Spend a lot of time price shopping, No more going straight to Vann's

, Nov. 12, 2008
Comments:
Well, I first bought a Kodak, it was nice. However the price was slightly higher but the quality was not as good since I was using windows 2000 SP-4 and their software would not work. When I called Kodak their customer service could care less. They offered no help. I then checked out the Panasonic which was a far better Camera and Customer service went out of the way to help me, I then started pricing the camera DMC-FZ28 and found that Vann's Beat everyone's price by $50.00 to $75.00! Then, on top of that, they offered free shipping! Where everyone else wanted an arm and a leg for shipping. Plus Vann's had a package deal with a 2G memory card, a case, and a new battery, for half the price. GOOD TRADE!

QuickTake:

Pros: Stabilizer, Digital Zoom, There are many Items that makes this Camera Great.
Cons: Have not had it long enough to find a bad thing, so far I am pleased.

Product Rating: 5 star(s) Out-shot my brother's D SLR with amazingly quick zoom and clarity of pictures.

, Oct. 8, 2008
Comments:
Recently took a week long trip to shoot waterfalls, lighthouses, Lake Superior, and wildlife with brother who purchased a D SLR for twice the price. Brother is jealous of some of the shots I was able to get because of the speed of the zoom and clarity of the pictures. While he fumbled from one lens to another and manually focusing, I was able to get shots he missed or barely got as the subject flew off - bald eagles in tree and as it took flight.

QuickTake:

Pros: great easy and quick zoom; wonderful clarity of pictures with fantastic lens while being light-weight
Cons: slower response on shutter speed when taking pictures than expected

Comments:
Great camera for the price! I would have liked to have an interchangeable lens feature, but for the price this is a capable home amateur camera, but not a hobbyist one.

QuickTake:

Pros: Great camera, very nice for the home hobbyist.
Cons: No option for adding lenses, and accessories are limited.

Product Rating: 8 star(s) Great little camera for travel

, May. 8, 2008
Comments:
Is light and has great features making it a good camera to travel with. Has a lot of good presets. Not as good with low light situations though. Resolution is not that of a full size DSLR.

QuickTake:

Pros: Has great lens (Leica) and 12X capability. Is small but capable, shoots RAW as well as jpg.
Cons: Sensor is small so resolution is not what you would get with an SLR.

Comments:
A fast, long 12x optical zoom lens and easy-to-use controls help make up a little for the DMC-FZ8's image-quality issues.

Review Verdict: Almost identical in body design to last year's DMC-FZ7, Panasonic's new Lumix DMC-FZ8 carries the torch as the smaller of the company's superzooms, not counting the even smaller DMC-TZ3, which doesn't include manual exposure controls and is targeted at a

Pros: Fast 12x optical zoom lens ; convenient joystick control ; manual exposure controls ; optical image stabilization ; raw image capture ;
Cons: Noisy images ; so-so image quality ; ISO 3,200 hidden away in a scene mode ;

Comments:

Review Verdict: While it does have a few things going for it, including a big zoom and comfortable design, the soft edges and colour reproduction issues mean the FZ8 isn't as impressive as it could have been.

With 12x zoom and image stabilisation, the FZ8 looks like a winner

Review Verdict: The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 is a well-made and sensibly designed camera with a range of features well suited to the enthusiast photographer. Its performance is a bit on the slow side, but the excellent lens and brilliant image stabilisation system more th

Comments:
Almost exactly a year after the introduction of the DMC-FZ7, Panasonic's popular compact super-zoom camera, comes its replacement; the Lumix DMC-FZ8. Where the FZ7 was a fairly major upgrade to the camera that came before it (the FZ5), the FZ8 is, perhaps

Review Verdict: Maybe because my expectations have been lowered, maybe because no one else is doing it any better, I ended up liking the FZ8 more than I expected to.

QuickTake:

Pros: Excellent resolution & sharp results, Good, natural color and excellent exposure, Superb 12x optical zoom, Smooth, almost stepless 2-speed zoom, Effective image stabilization, Small and light, but well built, Comprehensive range of controls, Very fast ope
Cons: Some areas of performance actually worse than predecessor, Noise is, as usual, a bit of a problem at lower ISO settings, ISO 400+ noise reduction produces color bleeding and loss of low contrast detail, Default noise reduction too high at all ISO settings
