Although canon has come out with another entry base DSLR, the XSi is a great upgrade from the XT. It has great IQ as I said and in the right hands, it can take pics that rival its big brother the 40D thanks in part to the better AF and Digic III processing. It also has 14 bit processing, but I honestly don't know what that affects. It uses SD memory cards but beware, the new SDHC cards need an upgrade in card reader to download outside of the camera. Don't get me wrong, my new card reader was only $26.00, but older card readers just don't cut it with the SDHC card (and your gonna want the higher capacity of the SDHC cards to store those 12.2 mp raw files).
QuickTake:
Pros: Exellent IQ, long battery life, great price.
Cons: ISO only goes to 1600, no in body image stabilization.
