This is my fouth camera and I do recomend Canon over Sony and I did buy this camera and the photo quality is good very small and slick look. it is good buy with this price

Sorry for the customer who's got a DOA, no matter what manufacturer it is you're heading for a lot of time and nerve wasted before you get things right. I've been using CANON electronics for over a decade and NEVER had any problems with nothing. This is my first CANON camera and I love it, just like all my other stuff.

DO NOT buy Canon products unless the terms allow a full refund. "My" SD1000 arrived malfunctioning. I could have returned it for another one, but I've played that hand already. After another sample of a bad batch I end up changing manufacturers while losing weeks of my life. So I promptly delivered it to the only U.S. Canon Factory Service Center, after being told they average a 9 day turn. 23 days later (long past the vacation I bought it for) I called and was told they were still waiting for parts. After burrowing deep in their system, (you can't get there from here) I found a rep that actually called the FSC while I held, was told they DID have the part (the whole PCB), made it top priority and had it repaired by the next morning. I then called the FSC and was told I could pick it up. When I arrived the counter girl told me they were supposed to call me for pickup. (When, in another month?) I only see poor quality control and shoddy service from Canon. If you want to pay for something you cannot use, to have your concerned emails "forwarded" to Canon USA (and apparently deleted), and to spend hours on the phone, Canon's for you.
