Product Rating: 5.00 star(s) Good Quality - Easy to Use

Comments:
I purchased this camera to use on business trips - I travel frequently and my wife and son wanted pictures of what the cities look like. When the camera arrived, I charged the battery overnight. When I got up the next morning, my son had taken almost 500 pictures with the camera without reading the instruction book...it's that easy to use. He even used the "stitching" software that came with the camera that converted a series of horizon shots taken in succession into one panoramic view. It looks really great.

I've taken the camera on a few trips so far and am very pleased with the quality. Like all digital zoom cameras pictures tend to get fuzzy when using the zoom feature to try and bring things really far away in close. The camera does a good job on most of these shots, reducing the "shake" to bring items in as clear as possible.

I've taken some short movie clips that have helped me set up some training videos for customers that I can send via email.

A great, versatile camera!

QuickTake:

Pros: Easy to use, clear pictures.
Cons: Corner-piece that covers the USB plugin seems kind of flimsy

Comments:
Images are brilliant, colors true. Had a little trouble at first with getting a few blurry shots because it’s so light sometimes it moves a little when you hit the button. The fast start up means I get shots that I used to miss with my older digitals. I love this camera. My work around for the blur issue is that if it's a critical shot I take two pics and concentrate on holding the camera steady. Once you get the hang of it its great. Also I love the full screen video, I don’t know what people complain about with this (unless they cant hold the camera steady). As others commented, Canon should lose the digital zoom. Who uses it (more than once)? All in all a fabulous camera and being so small and light I take it everywhere and get great shots. I recommend getting a fast 1 gig card if you intend to use the video as I do, also its useful to have a second battery and cycle them through.

QuickTake:

Pros: Small, light, fast startup & shutdown, great pics -A WINNER
Cons: Small and light means occasional pics will be blurry

Product Rating: 5.00 star(s) Camera for work use

Comments:
I purchased a Canon Digital 5 MegaPixel Camera Kit 18 months ago, used it for a few months, it was great, then my son wanted to borrow it to take to a wedding. After that, he fell in favor of the camera and decided he'd like to keep it for himself, so I let him do that. I purchased a Canon SD400 Digital Kit and started using it at my job for construction project records. I liked this camera so well I bought another kit just like it to have at home for personal use. This is an outstanding camera and I have already given it high recommendation to my fellow workers, and even suggested that our Engineering Department buy one. The menu is easy to work with, its very user friendly and its a compact powerhouse. I use mine at work for project progress reports by downloading the photos onto my computer, giving them a title, and then going to edit, marking the photos up with notes and dimensions, then e-mail them to my internal customers at our facility. A good photo speaks a thousand words.

Canon IXUS 50
