This was my first digital. Read the manual before you start! You can easily take pictures right away but the quality of my pictures increased when I finally decided to sit down and read through the manual! But that was my fault...to excited to just point and shoot. The one thing I don't like after using it intensively on a two week trip to Peru was the slide cover...at one point the camera actually froze up with the lense extended. I was frantic and decided to take the battery out and see if that would kinda "reboot" the camera. It worked. That is the only issue I have with this camera...well...maybe the "recovery" time between pictures too.
Seems a little long to me but that may be related to my personality! Very nice camera...my next one will definitely be a Fuji but without a slide cover. Enjoy.
