Fuji FinePix S700

I told my family I wanted a small digital camera that would fit in my purse and this is what they got me. I was a little disappointed and thought I'd exchange it for something smaller. But after I started using it, I love it and don't want to exchange it. I love the features--image stabilization, zoom, face-recognition, on-camera picture editing. It has auto features that will set the camera for the light conditions in the room. Or if you are a more serious photographer you can set things yourself. For those times when I can't decide if I need a flash or not, it will take two shots back to back--one with flash and one without--then let me decide which picture I like best. I love that I can use it with one hand. It is lightweight and easier to hold and handle than some of the small cameras I tested.

My husband bought me this camera for my 30th birthday. I was starting my own photography business and could not afford the $1,200 camera that i wanted( because everyone else had it and said it was so good) well I'am glad that i got this one.
<br>My pictures are turning out wonderful, if not better then my friends with the exspensive camera. i love that it has so many settings to choose from. it even has text mode if you want close ups of writing. i can go on forever about this camera and i wish more people would try it out. i think the name brand scares people off because it is not as big of a name as others, but iam telling you i would never buy a different brand(this is my 3rd fugi camera)

The Fuji S-700 camera is a great camera for the price. It has many of the features of a more expensive DSLR from total automatic mode to total manual operation, as well as aperature and shutter priority. The lens is excellent and although you don't get a really wide angle field of view of 18mm, the 38-380MM zoom lens gives the camera a lot of versatility for the money. The 7.1mp sensor gives great resolution without having to pay $900 plus for a DSLR in the 8 to 10.2mp range.

<br><br><br><br>The S-700 is not in the league with DSLR's like the the Canon EOS, Nikon's D-40 or D-80, or Fuji's own digital SLR's, but for the person who wants a more advanced camera than the average and above average point and shoot cameras that fit in pocket or purse, the S-700 is certainly a camera that anyone should take a good look at. I purchased this camera for my daughter for Christmas because I was so impressed with its quality and I own a Nikon D-80. For the money it's one camera that's hard to beat.

I reseach this camera (price and quality) for over a week and even went to a local camera stores to be able to have hands-on. When I recieved the camera from BUYDIG.COM I read the manual and the setup only took a couple of minutes. This is my second digital camera. My old Fuji camera is about 5 years old. The new S700 camera uses both SD and XD memory card. So far I only use XD.

<br><br><br><br>This camera has a great 10x opt. zoom and the 7.1MP is nice for the money. So far I have taken about 100 photos some outside day and night and some video with sound indoors. They all have been vary nice. The camera is pack with different setting for different type photos. This camera has a setting called AUTO which is for most people all you would need. It has a Intelligent flash, which according to Fuji, the flash does not charge up when you are taking a photo that does not require a flash. This saves batteries which this camera takes 4 AA or 4 AA NIi-MH rechargable batteries. No expensive special battery.

<br><br><br><br>This model S700 is vary new. According to Fujifilmusa.com it was released around May 07. So far I have not found anything I do not like yet, but being a old Quality Control person who knows?
