Just as others have stated, my camera has had the orange battery clip break two times so far. I bought this camera in Dec 2004 and I RArely use it...probably 14 days of use all year. I have taken the battery out only 6 times, and the clip broke two of those times!!! I am VERY careful with my camera. This is just a cheap part. The first time it happened was within the 30 day period that Target would take it back for a new one. They gave me a hard time though, so I would not rec. then for electronic buying. This last time was tonight and I now have to dig out my receipt again and try to mail in the camera. This sucks, it is a great camera except for this thing!
QuickTake:
Pros: ease of use, great photos
Cons: Orange battery latch keeps breaking, short warranty

This is my second digital camera and many improvements have been made in the last few years. This camera is simple to operate, and takes excellent pictures. If you have problems with this one you are probably better off with a throw away camera! I have a

There is no other camera I found that has 6.1 mega pixels for 400.00.
The price is awesome, the lcd screen is large, simple to use and easy to figure out.
You don't need the user manual at all. It comes with several programs to edit your photos, but I only installed the Kodak driver so my PC sees the camera as another hard drive. I prefer Photodeluxe to edit my pics. 6.1 megapix means you can ZOOM in a pic and still have a nice sharpness to the photo. Its's small enough that I bought a belt pouch to carry it in. I also added a 512mb card (70.00)and I get another 260(ish) pics at 6.1 mega pixel. I added the software to my laptop and can now download and store hundreds of pics on the laptop when we go on a family trip. It's not the fanciest or most option packed camera out there but the price is gonna make this camera a big seller. The zoom is unimpressive, but the only zoom that impressed me was in a 1000.00 SOny... If you must have a more professional camera then stick to film. Consumer reports (Nov 2004) gave it a BEST BUY rating as well. very happy with it.
Comments:
This camera would be great for the first time user who doesn't know a lot about technology or photography. Kodak does and good job on making their cameras easy to use.
This camera gives great detail in an outdoor setting. I took some pics of a car with chrome bumpers on a cloudy day. There was great detain in the picture except for a lot of purple around the chrome and glass (even though it was cloudy). I'm afraid of what the picture would have looked like on a sunny day.
Indoors this camera does well if there is enough light. In shadow areas there was unaceptable levels of noise. There was little to no detail on subjects that were in a shadow or out of direct light. The flash was below average also.
If you like to take macro shots (like flowers or items for ebay) do not get this camera. The closest I could get, using a tripode, was rite at about 8 inches. The color was horrable and there was very little detail. The Nikon coolpix 3200 (hald the price of the kodak) did 100x better in this test.
Lastly, recycle time between pictures was fast, for a kodak, but when using a flash your delay was almost 15 seconds.
QuickTake:
Pros: Easy to use. Big words in the menu
Cons: Too slow, lots of CA, and very poor macro

Would NOT buy Kodak again!!!

I will never again buy a Kodak digital camera. The lens cap won't stay on, which makes it impossible for travel, and the recovery time (time from shooting one picture to it's ability to take another) is EXTREMELY S-L-O-W. It also has this very annoying habit of giving you a red light when you want to take a picture. The time from clicking to tell the camera you WANT it to take a picture to the time it actually TAKES the picture is horrendously long, so that if you have young children like we do, you NEVER get the shot you want. If you prepare to take a picture before the camera is ready for you to want another picture, you get a red light showing, that seems to last an eternity, in which you are locked out from taking a picture. After you wait for this red light condition to resolve, you finally can try to take a picture, but with the extremely slow reaction time between pushing the shutter button and the actual snapping of the photo, you miss all the desired shots. I have hundreds of pictures of the back of my twins' heads (well, before we deleted them all). And please don't get me started on the Easy Share software that is supposed to make downloading all these photos so Easy...nothing could be farther from the truth! The software is full of glitches. It usually manages to download a few pictures without much trouble, but if I want to actually CHOOSE a picture to work with, the whole thing says error report and shuts down (and then asks me if I want to report this problem to server?) I even went back to the Kodak.com site and un-installed and re-installed the software...no improvement.
I did try contacting customer support at Kodak.com, and that was a waste of time as well. They sent a nice form letter promising to answer in more detail if their initial reply was not sufficient. It was not, so I emailed in return...and have yet to hear back. That was months ago.
The next time I am in the market for a digital camera, I will choose ANY brand but Kodak! NEVER AGAIN Kodak. They should stick to cheap cameras for teens & kids. That is their forte. PLEASE stay out of the serious camera market, we are tired of wasting our money on your overpriced cr*p! Anyone want to buy a slightly used camera and Easy Share docking station??? Call me!!
QuickTake:
Pros: I haven't found any.
Cons: Recovery (ability to take another picture) is TERRIBLY SLOW!

Kodak easy share

Comments:
This camera has a nice fit to it so your hands do not naturally impare the lens' view. I have found that the buttons are placed far enough apart to prevent accidental pressing when trying to select a different button. The camera's focusing abilities are better than average. This camera focuses very fast and displays a different color target when done. The features that make this camera very desirable are the 32 MB internal memory which allows for out of the box use, the simplicity of the design which allows the less knowledgable person to operate the camera, and the easy share port at the bottom of the camera which allows the user to place the camera on a mount that will allow access to the memory without having to remove any panels to access the memory.
QuickTake:
Pros: Easy to use, excellent pictures
Cons: Few options.

Comments:
Kodak has come up with a great series of new digital cameras that are as simple to use as was the instamatic back in the 60s. No more waiting to get your pictures back from the store! It takes great pictures that you can print out Kodak paper from the Kodak EasyShare printer instantly! But the big bonus is sharing your photos with all your family and friends with a push of a button from your computer! Your Kodak EasyShare doc does it all! It doesn't get better than that!- Oh yeah, it does - It's American Made!!!!!
QuickTake:
Pros: great photos, easy to print and transfer to computer
Cons: non that I can think of
