Olympus C-7000 / C-70 Zoom Review
by Phil Askey
Review Verdict:
The C-7000 is so unlike C-xxxx cameras of old it's almost worth Olympus using a new notation to distinguish it.
QuickTake:
Pros: Good resolution, Low noise, low noise reduction, Above average automatic white balance, Very-fast startup, let down by off to first shot time, Good build quality, compact size, Five times optical zoom, good telephoto reach, Good range of image parameter a
Cons: Some purple fringing, Somewhat disappointing battery life, USB 1.1 transfer (slow), Very slow playback browsing, Card formatting takes a long time, Tendency for AF to hunt at telephoto / low light
This is my first digital camera. Although it's pretty easy to use for basics, I like that there are MANY other features (for advanced users) that I am learning of every day. (Love the night-mode!) Olympus customer service has been easily accessable and very useful to me too. Batery life?... I didn't find that to be a problem...and the recharge is very fast.
If you are looking for a lot more than just good 4X7 pictures, try this camera. I think You will love it! GB.
