I love the camera size and ease of use. The battery life could be longer. The movies are easy to take but the pictures are very dark and not easy to see.
QuickTake:
Pros: Size always in my pocket

FOrget all the hypes and be realistic! Even though it can record a good video clip compare to most digital cameras but our main concern here is taking pictures right? It is a Digital Camera after all. The 5-Megapixel is just an ego thing! C'mon admit it since when do you really notch up to max to snap a shot? Maybe 1 in 20? Statistically most of us averagely use 2~3 MP for printing jobs and even 1MP for emailing purposes to save uploading time. My first point here is size doesn't matter 'cause most of us are amateur users and we don't really need a high-end camera. I bought it because I am a Sony fan and boy am I wrong; this is one sony product any sony fans should avoid! Don't bother fiddling with its built-in functions. The picture quality is always unsatisfactory no matter what you do; Grainy, blurry, under-colored,red-eyed and especially poor night-shots i must add. Don't be fooled by its 2 LCD screen thinking that you have captured a good clear shot but in fact most of the time your shots are shaky. Evidently when enlarged and viewed on the computer screen. This camera is extremely unforgiving when comes to movement. Furthermore it is not really light in weight like they say; it slipped out of my shirt pocket a few times accidentally when I bend down to pick up something not to mention it has droopy look in your pocket. Try it for yourself. I have already owned it for a year and believe me, I have seen all the disadvantages side. It was my big mistake after I compared it with other cheaper and better quality brands later.i.e Casio Exilim to name but a few. My advice: Consider any retractable-lens camera first and then deciding the fuctionality and look that suit your need.

This is the first digital camera I've owned. (My conventional camera is an AE-1P.) This was a gift. I wouldn't spring 500 for any digital camera and I'm not a serious photographer. I don't know why some bother to comment that professionsals will not by this camera. It is clearly not intended for Pros. That said, this tiny camera amazes me. The complaints I've read about poor picture quality and poor battery life make me think these folks got defective goods. My T1 takes eye popping pictures. Battery life is only a few hours, but what do people expect in this form factor? The MPEG movie quality is shaky, but, again, this isn't meant to be a serious video cam. The T1 has so many operating modes and settings that it made me feel old trying to sort them out. The fact that all options are menu driven (no knobs like on my old AE-1) can make use seem tedious and was initially frustrating. I too got some blurry pictures in my earliest usage. However, the more I use the T1 the more I like it. Exactly who this camera is marketed to is less than clear. While the tiny size makes it incredibly portable, it is easily dropped (the manual admonishes the user to always use the wrist strap) and needlessly feature rich for people who just want a small, simple point and shoot camera. My own preference would probably be for other Sony models with similar speeds and feeds but a more conventional camera look and feel. The greatest shortcoming is the lack of a viewfinder. The LCD is excellent, and the biggest currently available, but can still fool the user (even when reviewing shots) when precise focus is required. True, the lack of a tripod mount adapter seems like something should (and could easily) address. The flash range is very limited. (Sony makes this very clear in its literature). However, the camera is otherwise very easy to use in low light/no light conditions. It also offers modes for night shooting (skyscapes, fireworks, moonshots, etc.) The T1 is perfect for, say, real estate agents or other folks for whom digital is the only way to go (and where the in pocket form factor will be cherished). I find the camera works well in varied applications and conditions, although the color is not consistently rich. Deep azure skies come out disappointingly pale (and, of course, you can't just slap on a polarizing filter). Amazingly, there ARE alternative lenses available for this camera. (How they are installed is beyond me.) Still, the T1 is so dang sexy it's hard not to like it and I suspect that the more I use it the more I'll learn how to avoid some of the shortcomings reported here, and by others. The camera requires the DUO version of the Sony memory stick (Duo Pro for MPEG). FYI, Sony offers a one time 20 savings on any Sony camera accessories. That allowed me to pick up 512MB of Sony memory and a spare battery at very competitive prices. Compared to friends' digital cameras, the T1 is very feature rich, has relatively good battery life and takes great pictures. I'm happier with it every day.

not worth the money-I wish I had shopped around more
Comments:
Nice size-I get lots of compliments on how small the camera is. LCD viewer is nice and large. Instructions are hard to understand, indoor flash quality is TERRIBLE. Pictures taken inside, even during the day, are very dark and yellowish in color. Flash projection is only about 6 feet. Red eye does not work-Pics always have red eye in them even when using the red eye feature. Definitely not worth the money-I wish I had read all these reviews before I bought this camera!! Do not buy.
QuickTake:
Pros: small, can fit into pocket takes great outdoor shots
Cons: TERRIBLE indoor flash quality-terrible red eye

I used this camera twice and found the viewfinder broken. Sony refused through various channels to resolve the issue and wanted more than I paid for the camera to repair it. Good luck if you have any problems.

I am using this for last 3 weeks but unable to satisfy myself. I would say
its an overhead buying this camera. You'd be impressed once by its size but depressed always by its results.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT FROM BILIBI.COM They do not ship products manufactured for sale in the USA. Their support and customer service sucks and they do not ship products as promised. It's a good thing I always purchase online with AMEX or I would have been screwed royally.
