Product Rating: 5.00 star(s) this is a great recorder for transferring vcr tapes to dvd

Comments:
I have recorded over 800 hours of VCR tapes to DVDs in 2 months-this is an excellent recorder! the quality of recordings are great-even on extended play-you can get 16 hours of tape on one dvd (9.4gb) double sided-and all my movies etc were on 8 hour tapes-so I got 2 tapes to one DVD. I was looking at this pile of DVDs about 10 high and realized that was equivalant to 100 VCR tapes! and they will last forever! buying dvds in bulk they are around 1 each for the verbatim brand-which I always had good luck with for all my cds-and some of my vcr tapes were recorded 20 years ago-and the recordings were better than the original tapes. It's also easy to timer record-the vcr player is amazing also-SO FAST REWINDING IT'S UNREAL! the progressive scan means you never have to search for the end of recording-it takes up where the dvd is blank-and shows you exactly how much time is left on the vcr tape-and on the dvd disk. I got this player for 350 instead of 450 list at Amazon.com-and a 50 rebate-but I'd pay 500 for it!I had been dreading the thought of transferring my library of recorded tapes-but this player made it so easy I can't believe it! I would recommend it to anyone needing a good recorder-and the vcr/dvd combo and 1 touch (yes 1 button) dubbing from vcr to dvd (or vise versa) couldn't be easier!
