My husband and brother-in-law came home from a fishing trip with 200 pounds of wild-caught tuna and halibut--quite a catch. We thought this would be the best opportunity to purchase an upright freezer, which we had been thinking of doing for quite a while, but never quite wanted to spend the money ($800) to do so.

<br><br>I immediately got on the internet to research various freezers, as I obviously needed to buy something FAST. Unfortunately for me, I was under a time constraint. I saw the negative reviews on this freezer, but kind of ignored them, as our favorite store to purchase appliances (Aztec Appliances, San Diego) seemed to endorse the freezer.

<br><br>WHAT A MISTAKE! If we can help any other people who may be considering this piece of junk, don't plunk down $800! We've had nothing but problems. The repair people have been here four times. At this point, we are awaiting a new seal because there is a 2 inch layer of ice all around the rim of the door.

<br><br>We can't believe how appliances have deteriorated in quality over the years. There was a time when you purchased Maytag or Frigedaire, etc. when you would be assured of a quality applicance without problems. Now, all you can do is expect problems when you buy an appliance.

<br><br>I am writing this because reviews on the internet have helped me avoid clunkers that I would have purchased, save for the kind souls out there who took the time and trouble to describe the problems they encountered.

<br><br>Again, don't buy this freezer if you can help it!

Told dealer freezer not working he said I was opening door too much. waited 24 hours and temp. getting warmer called again, got repairman to come in 4 days( appointment Fri.) he said nothing wrong as I had to use Dry Ice to help cool it and temp was ok! next Monday called factory and they had repair come back 2nd repairman found defrost cycle not working and unit frosted up, and he ordered parts. It is now friday again and factory said they will replace the complete freezer, but did not authorize it. so I'am on the 2nd weedend with a freezer with no defrost cycle hoping it don't freese up as it has to be unplugged for 10 hours and restarted. when I call this Monday it will be 2 weeks. so far food has 1/2 thawed out Twice and much of it had to be TRASHED.
