It has a 3.5'' screen (if a larger screen is not important to you, try to have a 3.5''-screen one, because the larger screen cost an awful lot more, which in fact makes your battery life much shorter and heavier to carry.), but it has almost everything else a Garmin 660 has. The battery life of ours is satisfactory. When we selected "avoid tollroad", and it took us to a local road, and it turned out faster taking the local route because of the traffic. The experience ensured me about Garmin's satellite accuracy and smart functions. We moved into a new place and tried to find the nearest Ikea. The first one it took us to turned out to be a Macy's, the second nearest one was an apartment complex, and we had to call Ikea (according the number Garmin gave us)and found out the exact location. I guess even the updated 2009 map was not that updated...

QuickTake:

Pros: fast satelite aquiring when stay still; long battery life;a considerate lot of accents choice
Cons: wait till too close to inform of turning; even the updated 2009 map is not accurate enough

After getting lost on my last vacation I decided I needed one of these. While shopping for one at a store, a realtor who was shopping for a dashboard mount for hers, told me it was life changeing for her. After deciding which one I wanted based on Consumer Reports and other reviews I shopped for it online and found one at a great price. Although a little quirky I really do like it. I am excited to try it out on my next vacation.

QuickTake:

Pros: The voice prompting is great, the graphics beautiful, great for finding gas stations, food establish
Cons: Tested my home town routes that I know well. Took me to 40th street when 27th was way closer.

Product Rating: 5 star(s) REVIEW OF GARMIN NUVI GPS

Comments:
Very pleased with this Garmin product. Very helpful in big cities and places you are unfamiliar with. Fun to use and accurate once properly programmed. It doesn't always send you on the most efficient course, but it will always get you where you want to go. The bluetooth feature is great and works well. Nice size, and very portable if you also order the Garmin friction bean bag mount (easy to change from vehicle to vehicle without having to have a separate mount).

QuickTake:

Pros: EASY TO PROGRAM, NICE SIZE, RELIABLE, GOOD SATELITE ACCESS, BLUETOOTH WORKS WELL
Cons: SOMETIMES HAS TROUBLE WITH RE-ROUTE IF YOU CHANGE COURSE; OWNERS MANUAL WHICH YOU MUST DOWNLOAD NEED

I have genuinely enjoyed this device after much research. It is very handy and gets the job done when traveling in unfamiliar places which I do for business and pleasure. I took it on a family road trip right after purchasing it and it helped immensely in locating our hotel, Disney properties, restaurants, etc. The graphics are great and easy to see and use despite the small size. The directions are generally good although there have been times the directions are accurate but not practical or efficient. The MP3 device works fine and is a bonus for trips. The bluetooth features were disappointing. The device syncs up normally and has good functionality for dialing numbers but the sound is poor and people on the other end of the call could never hear me clearly. My favorite feature is the ability to locate businesses like restaurants, hotels, etc. while traveling. We have used this successfully several times when out of town which has been a life saver with three kids in tow.

QuickTake:

Pros: Great for navigating on road trips for business or pleasure, very accurate navigation, easy to use.
Cons: Takes a while to acquire satellite from time to time and doesn't always provide the best travel route
