Magellan RoadMate 6000T Auto GPS

After a few months, this unit lost all my addresses. This happened three time. Then it lost all the maps. I've emailed magellan support but all I get back are emails asking the same stupid questions. To top it off, the reply to address bounces.

great features with audio ...do not use the mp3 or the photo.no need to just wish it had an auto home instead of going through address book.

I received this as a gift in April. I've had to re-set the unit and re-enter all of my address's three times in 2 1/2 months. Each time I've followed the directions explicitly and it worked fine for another one to three weeks. After that, it acts as if it's never been on and begins to search for me in Denver (I'm on the east coast). After it re-locates my position, all of my previously input information, including my home location is missing.
<br><br>The most recent issue is that the touch screen stopped working completely. After a re-set with the re-set button, the unit has stopped working completely. I had to call them, explain the situation and pay to have it sent at my expense to their Texas repair center. I was told it would be 5-7 working days and after five days, I could call for an update as to when it would be returned. I shipped it on the 12th and tracked it through UPS showing they received it on the 14th. I called on the 22nd and was told they only show receiving it on the 18th and I could call back in two weeks to find out the status. When I explained what I was previously told and expressed my displeasure Mike (I think I was calling a call center in India because of his accent) told me that I could not speak with his supervisor and I would just have to wait. I explained that I was leaving for a trip and I needed the unit and asked that something more be done. He told me is supervisor is busy and his boss is too busy to talk to me.

I have purchased two separate units in the past three months and had to return both due to various defects. Magellan customer service is difficult to deal with - long wait times and not very helpful.
