I have relaxed African American hair and I use it every week after washing. It goes up to 450 degrees and makes my hair easy to manage and very shiny. I don't have to run the iron through a part of hair multiple times in order for it to get straight. Once is enough. I love how you can manage the temperature and the cord is also very long and rotates 360 degrees. Two minutes after I plug it in, it's ready for use. I take it with me everywhere I do vacationing because it's so light and compact. I don't like, however, the smell it emits at a high temperature and the room always smells strongly of burnt hair when I'm finished.

Pros: It instantly gets hot. It's lightweight, compact and easy to use. I love how you can adjust the temperature. I like the very long swivel cord, also. I have african american hair and it just works wonders!!

Cons: I don't like the smell it emits at the highest temperature. After use, my hair has a tint of a "burnt" smell and the whole room smells of burnt hair. I also wish it had a stand for when not in use. The iron easily topples over.
