Product Rating: 4.5 star(s) Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 1.5TB

Comments:
We were pumped when we heard that Seagate had broken through the terabyte barrier with its 1.5TB Barracuda drive-it's not only the biggest consumer drive available, but also represents the largest jump in capacity we've seen. We typically expect capacity

Review Verdict: Seagate claims a sustained data rate of 120MB/s. H2benchw found that although the Barracuda's max sustained read and write speeds both topped 125MB/s, its average sustained reads and writes were 98MB/s-still 15 percent faster than the Caviar

Pros: A huge leap in capacity without sacrificing too much speed or dough.
Cons: Random access times slower than the WD Caviar Black and Seagate HD103UJ terabyte drives.

Comments:
Monster storage; plus a choice of professional SAS or consumer SATA interfaces and reliability to boot.

Review Verdict: Its performance is undeniably impressive, and Seagate's track record in reliability (as well as its warranty and claimed failure rates) make this a tempting buy. That said, we will be reviewing more terabyte drives from other manufacturers next week, so y

The 2.5GB Pocket Drive found itself trailing behind the competition when it came to benchmarks and while we wished it performed better, we were more or less expecting these results. The drive finished our HD Tach benchmark test with an average read speed

Review Verdict: If portability and bang for your buck are more of a priority than performance, the Pocket Drive delivers.

The only slight downside is that the Seagate doesn't offer the fastest access times so if you want SCSI-like responsiveness the Hitachi is arguably the better choice of the two. If heavy data transfers are more your thing however, the Seagate is king of t

Seagate joins Hitachi at the 1TB milestone but is it too little too late?

Comments:
It's another external hard disk from Seagate, this time with an impressive 100GB capacity.

Review Verdict: The 100GB USB 2.0 portable hard drive from Seagate definitely isn't as cost effective as a 3.5in external unit, but it is smaller, lighter and still large enough to store masses of data.

Product Rating: 4 star(s) Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 - 500GB Hard Disk

Comments:
Looking for half a terrabyte of storage? Segate's latest Barracuda could be the perfect catch.

Review Verdict: The question of compatibility overshadows the 7200.9 as we expect that storage should plug in and behave, and the idea that a hard drive may 'disappear? at any moment is deeply concerning. The 7200.9 is fast, quiet and good value, but its new SATA2.5 feat

Product Rating: 4 star(s) Seagate 5GB Pocket Hard Drive

Comments:
If there's one thing there's an excess of these days, it's stuff. Video, music, photos, interactive flash games and amusing clips we've found on the internet - we clog up our hard drives and removable media with it.

Review Verdict: The Seagate 5GB drive is perfect if you primarily use a notebook. File copying is fast and it's cunningly designed so cables coil back along its perimeter when not in use. But it's rather fiddly to plug in to a desktop PC.
