I have owned this griddler for about six months. In that time I have had to replace the Probe with Control Knob twice, because to the best that I can tell the knob can not withstand heat at the High Sear tempature's. The Probe with Control Knob that came with the unit fell apart within two months of owning the product. I then ordered a replacement, that one fell partially apart within two weeks, but I was able to "superglue" it back together, until it to fell apart while cooking on High tempature. I bought my unit at the Navy Exchange and after getting no response to my email to Cuisinart Customer Service, I contacted the Navy Exchange Store Manager who without reservation replaced the Probe with Control Know. I'm now waiting to see how long that one will last.

<br>When working, the product cooks great. It's just that the Probe with Control Knob appears to be of poor quality.
