I had to load and delete Win Fax several times before I finally got it to work. At the end it was to no avail, as it would not work consistantly with Outlook. I then loaded windows 98 and and got rid of XP to get it to work the majority of the time. Terrible product and even worse service.

No matter how I tried I was not able to get the email function of Winfax Pro 10.03 to work with Windows XP Home addition. Since this is what my wife needs for her home office, it was very disappointing. Norton's web site was of no use.

Used WinFax Pro. 7.5 for years. Worked Well and easy to us. Upgraded Computer to Windows XP. Had to upgrade to 10.03 to run on XP. All traces of Win 7.5 had to be manually removed. This means using the regedit function, about 10 steps to do this. Uninstall will not clean out the Registery Keys. Symantec Web site has removal directions. Have not had any crashes so far. The only issue I have is I have only one phone line. Some times it puts itself into Automatic Fax receive mode. People call and get the Fax machine. Have to watch for this.

Make sure you get version 10.03 for Windows XP. 10.02 has a lot of installation problems and problems with Act and Outlook. Haven't had any problems since I got the new version.
The mail merge works great from Act 6.0 now that I have upgraded.
You can create a document in Word and send from there without going back to Winfax.
The Winfax technician tried to talk me into an external serial modem, which is probably the right thing to do, but my win modem is working fine so far.
Can't say much about their Knowledge base, I find it easier to use Google to search for their documents. If you can find the right document they are pretty well written. Hopefully, I won't have to go back to the knowledge base now that I have 10.03

To say that Symantec misrepresented itself in saying that WinFax Pro 10.02 is XP compliant is an understatement. My system crashed during installation. That was only the beginning of my problems. I checked the troubleshooting section of their manual to no avail and went through all of the fixes recommended on their site. When I tried to call their technical support line I found out that you have to pay for their help. Further, I found out that they offer a patch to help with some integration issues but you have to pay for shipping and can only get it after calling their pay support line. I guess expecting software that works or at least technical support, even on a limited basis, is asking too much from Symantec. Now Word and Outlook have become buggy because of the installation. If I had read some of the other reviews posted elsewhere on the internet I would have saved a lot of time and aggravation. Save yourself the hassle, DON'T BUY WINFAX PRO 10.02 AND EXPECT IT TO WORK WITH WINDOWS XP!
