Product Rating: 5 star(s) Excellent value, high performance laptop for linux

Comments:
Lenovo continues to make the ThinkPad a durable, high-performance machine for all types of users. The R61 is bulky and heavy, but performs just as well as it's cousin the T61 which costs nearly $800 more with the same options as I bought. Lenovo has changed the UltraNav in recent years to something I feel is less responsive and hard to use, however that's not specific to this model. QuickTake:

Pros: Low price, sturdy construction, outstanding performance, large screen, plenty of ports, good battery
Cons: Heavy, bulky, screen could be brighter and sharper, trackpoint and touch-pad could be more responsiv

Review Verdict: The stark black design suits corporate use, but is unlikely to appeal to consumers. The chassis is one of the bulkiest in this group test, but its 2.9kg weight allows for basic mobility. The 281-minute battery life, under test, is impressive and lets you
