I like this type of Laptop very much, and it meets my personal and business requirements. However it does not provide integrated driver programs, so I have to view the website, then download and try to install lots of drivers whatever suitable and compatible.

QuickTake:

Pros: High speed, long battery life, excellent performance
Cons: No drivers provided together, confusing driver download website page

Product Rating: 5 star(s) HARDY LAPTOP

Comments:
Great choice for college students who are moving the laptop all over campus and to and from the dorms. The wide screen is nice and the weight is even better. I had a T42 that lasted through four years of getting knocked around. My new laptop is bigger with the wide screen but lighter so its ok.

QuickTake:

Pros: Durable - I am not gentle and it still treats me well.
Cons: Large - but it's light and large means bigger screen.

Product Rating: 4 star(s) Powerful Linux Capable Workstation/Desktop Replacement

, May. 29, 2008
Comments:
I bought this laptop to replace a Dell 8200 that has seen better days. The 2 main reasons I bought this particular model were the GigaBit NIC, and the WUXGA display. Since I do a lot of linux development, the linux distro support for the T6x series is a definite plus, however the lack of a "real" serial port is somewhat of a pain, especially since the system only has 3 USB ports. Also, the lack of an outbound DVI connector (just a regular VGA connector) is a miss in the design to my mind. The NVRAM card is both a curse and a blessing. Until the system "learns" which files to cache, system start-up (and particularly shut-downs) can take forever. Once it stabilizes it seems to give at least some improvement. I found Vista SP1 to be a great help for this. On the positive side, I have found the Intel ABGN WiFi card to work really well with the antenna arrangement around the screen, I get approx 20% better signal than with my old Dell. The keyboard is wonderful.

QuickTake:

Pros: Solid Construction. High-Res screen in 15.4" Form Factor. Gigabit NIC.
Cons: Lack of Serial Port. Only 3 USB ports.

Product Rating: 5 star(s) Excellent product. Antiglare screen standard. Powerful!

, May. 28, 2008
Comments:
Really good product. Quiet, lightweight. Excellent value for the price you'll pay. Highly customizable through the company. Excellent sales support. I'm using it as an ancillary computer for my business. The fact that Lenovo offers the antiglare screen (which is absolutely essential for ANY use) as a standard feature for their ThinkPads is a credit to the company when everyone else is going glossy. This is a great, powerful business computer for those that need to be budget conscious. Not that lightweight, but by no means heavy. Easily upgradable in terms of hard drive and memory.

QuickTake:

Pros: Excellent value for the price you'll pay. Highly customizable.
Cons: The high resolution screen kind of works against you in terms of font and icon size.

Product Rating: 5 star(s) Fast and Reliable

, May. 28, 2008
Comments:
It's not always the more you spend the better the product because we got a great laptop for a reasonable price. IBM/Lenovo has always been a reliable company and I'd recommend them to anyone.

QuickTake:

Pros: Love the option between track point and touchpad mouse. The computer is faster than the last laptop I owned.
Cons: As with all companies these days, the worst thing about this is the pc support.

Product Rating: 5 star(s) It was a dream come true

, May. 23, 2008
Comments:
I have been using the computer only 3 weeks. I chose the T61 because of the great reviews and for now, I am not disappointed. Its great, fast, the screen is nice but I have not mastered yet all the buttons on the keyboard, it takes time to learn all the facilities but its actually quite easy. All in all I am very happy with it, the flaw is its weight, its not 3 kilos but 3+++ with the battery. I use it as a 2nd computer at home, when I watch TV in the evening or when my partner uses the other computer.

QuickTake:

Pros: The purpose of buying was to have a mobile fast easy to use computer at home and for travel.
Cons: Its a bit too heavy for me to "schlepp" around at the airports, so the advantage of having a large screen is lost on that.
