This computer cost 2/3 less than my Dell, and operates better. It is smoother, faster and more responsive. I did have trouble with the screen, called Acer, sent it in and within a week they had replaced it and it was back in my hands. Absolutely no problems with service. I spoke with a Rep in Texas who could speak English--not like Dell where you either get someone in India or the Philipines, and they kick the problem down the road until the warranty is up, even if you have an "In Home Warranty."
<br><br>I will buy Acer again but never another Dell. You would do well to try Acer. This was my first time to own an Acer laptop, as I have owned 3 Dells and 1 HP. The Dells have all been high-priced junk (the HP was okay), and when they go all your expensive accessories become useless. Try an inexpensive Acer. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

I purchased this laptop and have been very happy with its performance and speed. However, not having firewire or S-video is a little bit of a buzz kill but what do you expect for the price. This isn't a sempron or a celeron processor..of course this mig
