HP Pavilion dv6226us 1.6 GHz Intel Pentium Dual Core Laptop

I am very impressed with this laptop and must admit that i was surprised to see such a good overall machine for the price. Vista is a heavy application in terms of memory usage so higher RAM might do you some good. If you don't mind changing to XP, or Gentoo Linux (like me), then this comp will work just great.

This brick is slow. It is even slower than the laptop I was supposed to be replacing. The screen flickers at
<br>random moments, and sometimes goes black for a few seconds, then comes back. It often will not wake from
<br>sleep, causing me to reboot (which takes forever!) and then open back up all the windows and documents I was
<br>working on. Major headache and interruption to my workflow. I was supposed to get a rebate from HP, but it is
<br>way past the due date. A few contacts with HP have yielded no results, except to be told that someone is
<br>working on it. Don't count on the rebate when you are considering the cost of this machine. In fact, don't even
<br>consider buying this machine. What a waste of money.
