In early 2003, when I needed to read a friend's xD camera card, this was the lowest-cost adapter that I could find. It adapts an xD picture card to a compact flash connecton. Since this device does not appear to contain any electronics and simply adapts one kind of connector to another, I'm astounded at its high cost. There are now universal USB card readers selling for about half as much, that not only read xD picture cards but every other memory card format in current use.
Unless you have a specialized application where you specifically need to connect an xD picture card to a compact flash connection, you're better off spending about half as much and buying a universal card reader.
