I use this printer as a my designated photo printer,I find the text quality to be a bit fuzzy so I still maintain my HP Photo-Smart for text and lesser quality photo output. I do suggest you use canon photo paper however, kodak papers work quite well as l

High quality color printer giving both good black on white text/graphics printing and crisp borderless picture printing. Capable of direct printing from a digital camera. Separate ink tanks provide good economical printing.

Very good printer for photo quality prints on CANON photo papers. Pour results on other brands of photo paper. - For documents & letters the printer is very slow (but excellent). It is meant primarily for photo printing.
